Changes/Additions
for v5.37 (1/29/08)
-
Implemented parameter for performing Double
Pass on outline pass of ‘skinny’ parts. A value
for maximum width/length can be entered to determine if a part
is ‘skinny’. Double Pass area value is still available
as well. If a part is below or equals either value the part
will be Double Passed. Double Pass settings are now accessed
from a button in the Settings dialog. (ADDED)
-
Pocketing not performing correctly for
grouped door or drawer fronts. (FIXED)
-
Placement Pins activated for Scrap Part
Recovery if the Placement Pins selection is set for Flip Operations.
This is required if a machine is set up to use Placement Pins
at the Flip Operations fence since this is where a part is
located for Scrap Part Recovery. (ADDED)
-

rotation. (FIXED WITH EXCEPTION) EXCEPTION: eCabinet Systems
insures the inside of the cabinet is the side of the part which
is facing up in the nest. (Shelves top side, Partitions right
side, Toe front side) For double sided material eCabinets will
make the side of part with the most operations be the side
facing up in the nest. For these circumstances where eCabinets
switches this orientation to not be the inside of the cabinet
there is a possibility that the rotation will be inaccurate.
This is being address in eCabinets and will be fixed in version
5.1 Build 3. Release of this build will be available in the
near future.
-
Setting the start point for chain and outline operations
in DXF can now be accomplished by putting the desired starting
entity in a separate layer with same name plus the addtion
of the word “start”. Refer to manual in DXF – Layer
Names section. (ADDED)

If a problem is found this file will help to reproduce the error.
Just send the file with a description of the problem. (ADDED)
-
Set tool tolerance. This value can be set
in Tooling. This value will tell Control Nesting what tolerance
to use when selecting the proper tool for an operation. The tolerance
value is applied to the diameter of the tool. For example, if
an operation calls for a tool with a diameter of 0.25" and the tool at the control

sheet. The option is available in Settings. When the check box
is selected the parts will be nested to the edge of the sheet.
The tool paths will still cut completely around the parts. (ADDED)
-
Chain layer in DXF files. This allows cutting
a closed loop in a part. The layer can designate inside or outside
cutter compensation. This feature is useful for designing a manual
nest with DXF or simply another tool for cutting interior perimeters.
(ADDED)
-Example1, ‘chain compin z0p75 d0p25’
means a closed loop toolpath with cutter compensation on the inside
at a depth of 0.75” with a 0.25” diameter tool.
The cutter direction is designated by the climb or conventional
setting. Double pass area designation is also obeyed.
-Example2: ‘backchain compout z0p5 d0p375’
means a closed loop toolpath with cutter compensation on the outside
at a depth of 0.5” with a tool of 0.375” diameter.
-
Order of operations in DXF. If a number is added
to the end of a layers designator name it will use that order
in operations. (ADDED)
-Example: A part with 3 operations
could be done with 3 different layer names.
‘centerline1 z0p75 d0p5’
‘centerline2 z0p82 d0p25’
‘centerline3 z0p85 d0p125’
-
Mixing of different layer types is allowed.
Control nesting will do it’s best to keep tool changes
to a minimum.
-
When using the Chain layer name the number
should be after the compin or compout. ‘chain compin1
z0p75 d0p5’
|

‘pocket’. Other conventions are the same.
-‘d#p#’ in the layer name represents the diameter
of tool desired for use. If this is not specified Control Nesting
will use the diameter specified in Settings.
-‘z#p#’ in the layer name represents the depth of
cut. If the depth is not specified the location of the entity
is used to determine depth.
-layer name example: ‘pocket z0p5 d0p374’
this -This will mean that all lines
and arcs in this layer should identify boundary(s) of pocket(s)
at 0.5” depth and use a 0.375” diameter tool.

Changes/Additions for
v4.64 (8/09/05)
-
Full outline cut not
being performed for tabbed parts (FIXED)
-
Off-Fall numbering
wrong when grouped parts are in the nest (FIXED)
- Cutter compensation incorrect for some
parts with complex outline paths which consist of many directional
changes from clockwise to counterclockwise (FIXED)

|
Changes/Additions for v4.63 (8/03/05)
-
Outline cutting order options
available. User can select one of 3 options. Click the Outline
Order button in Settings to select. The options are:
-Progress to nearest part (the machine will try to go to the
nearest part next)
-Progress along X (This options is typically used for roller
hold down machines to avoid excessive rolling over parts which
may cause part movement)
-Smallest to Largest area (The smaller parts will be cut first.
Part size is determined by area which is calculated by width
times length.)
-
Parts not cutting out on correct
material with multiple jobs in one nest which contain grouped
parts. (FIXED)
|
|
Changes/Additions for v4.62 (7/28/05)
-
Job loads but load dialog
will not exit when OK is clicked. (FIXED)
-
Tabbing feature improved
(did not work in some scenarios) and ‘Use Tabs’
option in settings available. NOTE: When the ‘Use Tabs’
option is checked the double pass feature is turned off and
a single tab will be present for each part that falls below
the Part Width or Length for Tabbing. (ADDED)

Changes/Additions for v4.61 (7/22/05)
-
Part width & length
incorrect in Unnested parts warning dialog for DXF parts in
metric (FIXED)
-
Off-Fall rotation selection
buttons not showing up when table width is larger than 48”
(FIXED)
-
Sheet selection option
for skipping to a sheet upon starting the program. This can
be turned on/off in settings dialog. If the option is on, the
operator will have to enter a number at start of program then
hit <Enter> before the control prompts to load material.
If the option is off, the CNC program is written without labels
to skip to sheets. (ADDED)
-
Pocket operation converted
to a drill operation option. Pocket operation of 1 arc &
1 line, where the line is on the edge of the part, will be converted
to a drill operation if this option is selected in the settings
dialog. This option is helpful for KD/RTA construction operations
when the part was edited in the Part Editor of eCabinets. (ADDED)
