Dear Dennis

When I first heard about Nested Manufacturing in the summer of 1999, I was looking for a way to substantially increase our current rate of production without the huge investment of a CNC beam saw and point to point machines. After much investigation and a tour of the Thermwood facility, I decided on the Nested approach using a Model 40 Router.

I have visited shops that use traditional beam saws and point to point machines and I now believe that Nested Base Manufacturing was; and still is, the best choice for our furniture building process. One of the things we really like about the Routers is the all-in-one processing feature. Parts are cut, drilled, routed, etc. in just one operation. Additional point to point and secondary router operations are eliminated all together. Another benefit is just the routing ability itself. With our AlphaCam software, we can easily route and drill virtually any part that is drawn in Autocad.

Late in 2001 we expanded our entire operation with a move from our current 12000 sq. ft. facility into our current 64,000 sq. ft. operation. The expansion aslo included a second Thermwood Model 40, second edgebander and a CNC Dowel Drill in our machining area. The Dowel Drill/Inserter is another great way to save time by automating the doweling process. Like the Thermwood Routers, we use Cabinet Vision Manufacturing Software to send corresponding information to the drill. Operators simply scan the bar code label (Labelit Software) and the proper program is loaded to drill and dowel the part.

Over the years, Thermwood has been a great company to do business with. Their tech support reps are on the ball when we need help and parts are sent usually the same day.

Keeping up with our increase in sales over the years has never been a problem. Since adopting Nested Manufacturing and obtaining our first Thermwood Router in early 2000, we have gone from $1,200,000.00 to $4,000,000.00 in production as of year end 2004.

I guess we made the right choice.
