01-28-2005 Alvin McDonald Dear Alvin: In February of 2001 I began to look into the possibility of purchasing a CNC router. At the Greensboro, NC expo is talked to several manufacturers of routers including Thermwood. The demonstration they had at the show was simple and very impressive. What impressed me the most was Thermwood’s interest in me (at the time, a one man shop). After staying in touch with me through literature and an occasional phone call, I decided to really get serious. I arranged a visit to Thermwood’s headquarters in Dale, Indiana in December of 2003. I was again impressed with Thermwood’s interest in me and how they could make their routers work in my shop. We agreed on what I needed and when I needed it and the wheels began to turn. I received 2 weeks of training (E Cabinet software, and the CNC Cabinetshop 40 hardware) in February on 2004. They were right on time with the delivery of my new router, exactly as they promised. To say that I was somewhat nervous about the whole “change” in my cabinet shop is truly an understatement. After a very short, in house, learning curve we began to produce cabinets. We immediately notice an increase in accuracy and the decreased production time was unbelievable. The Cabinetshop 40 (using blind dado joinery) can product more parts in one day than we can assemble in 2 days (we are now a 4 man shop). The E Cabinets software is so easy to use and more versatile that one can imagine. The software tech support people are wonderful as well as the CNC tech support people. The few problems I have had (none mechanical) have been solved in a matter of minutes and with true professionalism. I can not say enough good things about Thermwood Corp. I hope to need another CNC router in the need future and I will not hesitate to order another Thermwood product. Sincerely, Ray White Harleywood Productions, LLC |
